Through my art, I try to portray deep feelings with my figurative sculptures. Whether they be feelings of grief, joy, agony, or love, the clay figures evoke an emotion through facial expression and gestural movement. I like to make a statement about specific issues that are universal to all genders, but especially for women. I want the viewer to connect with the energy of the figure to find answers to their own questions.
“We can constantly live today waiting for tomorrow to come and still miss all today’s moments…one day at a time. This new way of life is like breathing. We can’t ever get ahead. We only get breath… and grace… for the moment we’re in now.” — Melody Beattie
